The Cult of Jenna

Two grotesquely assembled rainbow lamps, for electric poi I’m hoping to have made by wednesday! These little lights put out an impressive amount of light - almost like torches. They can be connected directly to a suitable power supply to make red, green, blue, yellow, aqua, purple, and white, or can be connected to a miniature $3 computer, to do rainbow effects.

Should this experiment turn out well, I intend to get some circuit boards made up with 3-4 of these LEDs, much neater and much more compact - it would be easier to assemble too, which would make it much more fun to make some for friends. :)

Concept Raver necklace with a rainbow flashing orb - it appears as a stuttering white when stationary, but when it moves around at all, it paints trails of rainbows in onlookers eyes.

It’s about half finished - the lamp piece works great, but I’ve yet to fabricate the back piece, with the battery and miniature computer.

In getting ready for christmas, I made this nifty little ring from some copper pipe found under @robodinos on a lathe. I think I did pretty well for a first attempt!

I’ve been playing with Anaglyph 3D since my glasses arrived yesterday! It’s heaps of fun! I made this one in Acorn by adding a Multiplication layer above the right eye image, filling it with cyan (#00FFFF), then grouping those two above the red, setting group to ‘screen’ layer mode, and adding another multiplication below the right eye group, above the left eye image, with just red (#FF0000).

It seems to work really well, but the images lack an appearance of a red channel when viewed with glasses, so I wonder if there’s any better way to process these things where some red may be able to be seen in the image without stuffing up the depth illusion. My glasses allow a slight amount of red through the cyan filter in the Anachrome style. Anyone know?

Mmmmm. Hacker Bats. They’re so cool, they don’t even NEED sunglasses. The sunnies are built in! And you know which bats are the cutest bats? That’s right. The herbivorous bats. Will I ever stop pushing my vegan agenda on this tumblog? Nope! :D

Go fruit bats go!

I made some little books with NomiChos on tuesday, and while the prototype was alright, it was kinda dull. Pictured is my second attempt. It is tiny! Pages are 4x3cm, with coptic binding. They are oh so nifty and oh so tiny and also functional if you can write things tinily enough! If you want one, poke me or NomiChos (via twitter, or a@creativepony.com on the email/msn/jabber).

We’re pondering possibility of having custom pages printed in to them, so you could provide a bunch of images, text, or a pdf, and have it bound in to a tiny keepsake book which could be on a necklace or keyring or what have you. The one pictured has blank fairly smooth arty sort of paper in it. :)

Doodled Impbox in Adobe Ideas (free) on Glompbot’s iPad to see what finger doodling on an iPad is like. It was surprisingly good! Unlike the iPhone, there’s plenty of space to work and I didn’t find my finger got in the way too much, but I expect it would have been even better if I’d had the use of my Pogo Sketch Stylus.

It’s making me really want an iPad. Must wait for second generation! Must resist the vortex of appley dooooom! DOOOOM!

A decision! The brown with bleached tips as suggested by Sark is the hair! ^_^
